Welcoming Our Future Year 7 Students
On Wednesday 10th September, The Basildon Lower Academy was delighted to welcome Year 6 parents and carers, to our Transition Event.
The afternoon provided an opportunity for families of prospective students due to join us in September 2026 to find out more about life at the Basildon Academies.
Our Headteacher, Rebecca Rees, along with key members of staff, shared insights into our values, support systems, and the exciting opportunities available to all students. Families also heard more about our supportive learning environment that enables every child to thrive and achieve their full potential.
A real highlight of the event was hearing directly from our current students, who spoke with great confidence and maturity in front of an audience of prospective families. Their ability to share personal experiences of Academy life, from the strong pastoral support to the wide range of extra-curricular activities, was a true testament to their communication and public speaking skills. They represented the Academy brilliantly and embodied the values we strive to uphold every day.
We are incredibly proud of:
- Iris.I (Year 10)
- Jorden.J (Year 10)
- Rebecca.B (Year 11)
- Isabelle.P (Year 11)
- Hayden.A (Year 11
- George.C (Year 11)
- Eluney.B (Year 13)
- Joy.N (Year 13)
- Raul.R (Year 13)
- Maisie.D (Year 13
The afternoon concluded with parents and carers taking the opportunity to speak with staff on a one-to-one basis, allowing for personalised conversations and questions about the transition process.
We would like to thank all families who attended and look forward to supporting our future Year 7s on their journey ahead.
If you’d like to see more of what was shared during the event, you can view the presentation here: Year 6 Transition Presentation. This gives a great overview of life at The Basildon Academies and may be especially useful for families with younger children who will soon be making the transition to secondary school.
