Year 10 PET-Xi Workshops Boost Confidence in Core Subjects

Last week, selected Year 10 students took part in targeted PET-Xi intervention workshops, focused on English, Maths, and Science.

These intensive sessions were designed to support students’ progress in key areas ahead of their summer exams.

Delivered by PET-Xi’s specialist tutors, the workshops provided an engaging and structured environment where students could revisit challenging topics, build confidence, and develop effective revision strategies. Lessons were interactive and fast-paced, with a mixture of mini-games, challenges, and prize incentives to keep motivation high.

Students responded positively to the experience, highlighting how the sessions helped them identify and close knowledge gaps, while also providing them with useful materials to support their independent revision. The inclusive and encouraging approach taken by the PET-Xi team made it easier for learners to stay focused and enjoy the process.

“The sessions were very engaging. The tutors helped fill in gaps in my knowledge with fun mini-games in between, which helped me stay focused. I would recommend it.” Leon.S

“I completed a week of PET-Xi in science, which really helped me with topics I’d been struggling with. I now have extra revision materials to use at home. It was really immersive — there were raffle tickets, games, and prizes to win at the end. It’s helped me feel more prepared to maximise marks and achieve higher grades.” Jessica.N

“The PET-Xi tutors helped us with revision techniques and taught us things we may have missed during lesson time. The team were really kind, generous, and very supportive.” Lee.M

“The course was inclusive and immersive — fun, easy to understand, and really beneficial for my learning.” Kyra.G
