New space, new stories — discover, read, and relax.
We are thrilled to announce that our Upper Academy Library is officially open for student use at break and lunch times; offering a calm and welcoming space for reading, research, and relaxation. While still modest in size, this is a small but growing library, and we’re incredibly proud of the progress it’s making — thanks in no small part to our team of passionate and dedicated Year 10 Student Librarians.
These wonderful volunteers are not only helping to keep the library organised and accessible, but they are also champions of reading themselves. Here’s what some of our librarians have to say about the importance of the library in our school community:
“I want people to find books that resonate deeply with their soul — stories that reflect their personality and love for reading.”Veronika.L - Year 10
“I feel that a library helps students to find more creative paths.”Arlo.H - Year 10
“Having a library helps people to express themselves through books.” Lexi.T - Year 10
“The library development within the school encourages creativity within the students at the school in order to express themselves artistically and freely.” May.G - Year 10
The library offers a broadening selection of fiction and non-fiction, with new books being added regularly. All students are welcome to sign out books for up to two weeks and may renew titles if they’d like more time to enjoy them. Whether you’re a confident reader or just beginning your reading journey, there is something here for everyone.
We warmly encourage parents and carers to remind students to make use of this wonderful space, where reading for pleasure and academic success go hand in hand.
If you would like more information or wish to donate books in good condition, please contact the English Department.
