Year 12 Students Inspired by PwC Career Visit

Our Year 12 students recently had the exciting opportunity to hear from representatives from PwC; one of the UK’s leading professional services firms, as part of a special careers event linked to Essex County Council’s Essex Year of Opportunity.
Caroline McMenamin, PwC’s Technology Consulting Manager, visited alongside a current apprentice to share the many pathways available to school and university leavers—including apprenticeships, internships, and fully funded university courses with work placements at PwC, meaning no student debt.
PwC, with over 25,000 employees in the UK, is a client-focused company offering real-world experience in diverse areas such as finance, tax, tech, HR, business solutions, and consultancy. Apprentices get involved in live client projects and are supported to reach their full potential.
Apprentice Afridi shared his personal career journey, including his application experience, how he balances work, study, and personal life, and the many responsibilities and benefits that come with being part of such a prestigious organisation. He also gave practical interview tips, helping students better prepare for their own next steps.
The event was organised by Association of Secondary Headteachers (ASHE) and attended by Essex County Council dignitaries including Cllr Tony Ball, Anita Kemp, and Robin Harbord; highlighting the importance of showcasing high-quality career opportunities for young people in our region.
