Students Shine at the ESAA National Cross Country Championships

A huge well done to our Year 10 and Year 11 boys, who proudly represented the Academies in the first round of the ESAA National Cross Country Championships at The King John School.

All of our Year 11s competed in the senior category, taking part as a team of younger students in a predominantly Sixth Form competition. They finished 4th out of 7 teams, just one place shy of qualifying for the regional finals, and in the process beat regular ESAA finalists Westcliff High School for Boys.

Special mention goes to Adrijus.P, who performed exceptionally well, finishing 12th in an outstanding field made up mainly of Year 12 and 13 students.

Our Year 10 team also showed great determination, finishing 14th out of 14. While the result may not have reflected their hard work, other schools were very complimentary of the fact that every runner completed the full course, demonstrating strength of character and perseverance.

Competing against schools from across the region, our students showed outstanding effort, determination, and teamwork throughout the event. The challenging course tested every runner’s endurance, but each of our competitors rose to the occasion and gave their best performance.

We are incredibly proud of how our students represented the Academy, demonstrating
resilience, sportsmanship, and commitment from start to finish. Congratulations to all who took part.
