Year 10 Excel at Work Experience

Congratulations to our Year 10 students who have successfully completed their recent work experience placements.

Over the course of two weeks, students immersed themselves in the professional world, gaining invaluable insights and hands-on experience across a diverse array of industries. Placement providers included Belson Opticians, Brentwood Karting, David Lloyd Leisure, Gateway FM, Hopefield Animal Sanctuary, Marsh Farm, Morgan Sindell, Richmond Boat Hire, Transport for London and many local Primary & Nursery Schools.

Students have really benefited from the experience, received lots of praise from their placement providers and have left with a huge sense of achievement.

“The work I have been doing has been so useful for me. I have learned lots of new things about the broadcasting industry and also Engineering.” Ashraf.W (Gateway FM)

“I really like working with the animals here, I have managed to be part of both the Cattery and Kennels. All staff have been really supportive and informative - especially as there's a lot to know about different breeds.” Riley.C (Isadene Kennels)

“I have enjoyed it a lot and, seen the reality of work.” Gabriele.G (H.R Department at Ford Dunton Technical Centre) “Working at The Happy Hub has been quite an interesting experience. It helps to develop social skills and teamworking.” John.T (The Happy Hub)

“It was enjoyable and I have gained experience within the retail industry.” Yani.F (Tune-Up Seafood)

“Chanel was given an overview of each area including the Metropolitan Police; she even got to sit with a traffic engineer and control the traffic herself. Chanel pushed the button to close the Blackwall Tunnel, and watched the barriers come down and the traffic stop, and then reopened the tunnel to give her some live real life experience.” Transport for London employee

“Megan and Charlie exceeded our expectations and continue to do so. Both have been given the offer of working with us in paid employment in the future”. Marsh Farm employee
